Re: Molded windsheilds
Steve's molded windshield was about the best upgrade I have done to my 15 year old Highlander. I'm glad they're back!

I agree with Alan.
Made the plane feel more solid. I replaced all of my plastic windows with 1/8". Worth the money and effort. Despite the negligible weight gain.

Re: Molded windsheilds
I think the molded windshield should be standard equipment.
Thicker, stiffer, and since it is molded the bends don’t craze after a year or so. Fit great, installation is easy.

How does this compare to the extreme windshield? Or are they two different animals completely?

Two different windshields. This mirrors the original windshield, the extreme windshield is more sloped.Meatball wrote:How does this compare to the extreme windshield? Or are they two different animals completely?

Re: Molded windsheilds
I have an original Steve Dentz molded Highlander clear windshield for sale.
I bought it from Steve in February 2018 just after he stopped making them and got the last clear one he had. My plans changed and I ended up building a Rans S-21 instead of a Just Highlander. The windshield has been sitting in a box in my hangar ever since. I paid US$375 for it and am now willing to sell it for US$200. Since I live in Canada and shipping to the USA is stupid expensive, I will bring it with me when I go to Oshkosh (Airventure 2024) this summer. If anyone is interested in buying it please let me know and I will meet up with you or your designated attendee there. If no one shows any interest, I will either store it for another 6 years or dispose of it.

Those molded windshields are outstanding. I bought one years ago when my original one started to crack at the folded corners. I hope you sell it.

I thought somebody picked up the molds and production, is that not the case?

The new windshields are available from https://www.stolitaircraft.com/ $450. The one for sale above would be a pretty good deal for someone.
