SSXL
Having problems grasping the instructions. How to find the position of doubler placement. I don’t see how these could be drilled with any accuracy on the bench or rotisserie. Not to mention the correct sweep which is vaguely referenced. On my previous plane there were hours of plumb bobs, measurements, digital angle finders etc involved.
Anyone with a couple good pictures and descriptions of what worked?

Re: Wing root drilling
Put wings on plane without doublers
Then put doublers on the outside of spar with bolts
Mark and drill for rivets,
Then disassemble, put doublers on inside with clecos to check alignment
Then rivet and hysol with a waxed bolt through the spar mount holes
Then put wing on plane and ream to match the headrack fitting.

Thanks Shawn. How are you locating the hole location in the spar? I have hole finders but not one the large.

Re: Wing root drilling
Spars should have come with starter holes???
When you fit the wing to the plane- with strut - line starter hole up with head rack holes then ream to match.
I use a tapered punch to line everthing up

Re: Wing root drilling
No starter holes. There is a 1/16" dimple that faces the leading edge (90 deg to the spar pin) but nothing else. Might be time to check with factory.

Ok, I was way overthinking this. Once I read the manual over and over it started to sink in. Got right wing rigged. The first image is the hole finder I made from a random brace from some other project. Notice the jongle offset. Never throw away random crap.

Re: Wing root drilling
Drill starter holes small so that when you ream to match the headrack any missaligment will be reamed out
