Showing the slight difference in Pinking cut between a Florian cutter on left from Spruce vs a Olfa pinker cutting wheel. And then the Pinking scissors made by Fiskars slightly different cut too...but so slow with scissors!

Nice job with the fabric!

Why super glue and not oratex glue?

The aluminum backer pieces around all holes is a must!!

Lars said attach the aluminum plate with Super glue first, then once its attached use Oratex glue on the top surface of the aluminum...im guessing because the Oratex glue "needs heat and pressure" to set properly and when you first put the aluminum against the fabric you might not get the pressure needed???...jsut my guess...i never asked why

Thanks for posting!

Maybe should start a new thread just for this so it is easily searchable or thumbtack to the top.

Or better yet we nee a thread for updates to the kit that has them all in one place.

Does anyone have a list of all of the updates?

Flap springs
Large washers on push rods
Wing root doubler
???
I created a new Thread called "SuperStol Kit Updates"...that should be a good name for that thread eh?...i put those 4 pics and my paragraph there. Thanks on the fabric i took my time, i did some fabric work on my Chinook with the Stewart glue, and helped some guys not too far from me for a day and 1/2 last winter with Oratex.

Aluminum plates primed and scuffed and glued down with Spruce BSI Super Glue. The white spot above the plate in middle Pic is Super Glue that ran downhill on me, so keep you item with a slope to prevent the glue running it’s first time I used that glue and it’s thin thin, I could have made a Doilee big enough to cover it but didn’t want a Doilee too big...oh well it’s a Bush Plane not a show plane.

I decided to add Anti-Chafe tapes I made from Oratex 6000 with 2 layers of glue...this is ALOT of extra work.

Lars suggested that to me and had me convinced - until he told me how good the glue is.

After I tested the glue and figured that I was going to glue EVERY friction point so there would be no chafe, I decided no chafing tape was needed.

I may be wrong...

It is ALOT of extra work

I did the same, no tapes. The glue won't allow any movement so no chafing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Oratex Glue really bleeds under tape. Has anyone found a certain tape that the glue won’t wick under ? ...I was going to use a 2” finishing tape on this Aileron rib...now I’m forced to use a 3” finish tape to hide the glue. After the first layer of glue I removed the white masking tape just when the glue started to get slightly tacky with brush and it had wicked under the masking tape. Then before I applied the second layer of glue I layed down new masking tape thinking it wouldn’t wick a second time but it DOES and the second time it wicked further!

A way smaller brush, less glue and no tape in this pic, worked much better.

This plastic shringe with a cap I find very handy for sucking up what’s left in my cup between small jobs. Then next job I use what’s in the shringe first works good(I filter it coming out of the shringe into a new cup...every time.

Syringe is a good idea.

You can always scrub glue off if you get it where u dont want it. A little water and some scrubing.
At least until you put heat to it, then its too late.
