How much do you think the Corvair will cost? In and running.
I want to see what I'm up against.

"Complete Zero-Timed Motors Hand Built and Tested By William Wynne Begin at $6,499" www.flycorvair.com
"This engine totally rebuilt can fly for less than $2,600" www.flycorvair.com
I expect to spend about $4k to $5k for engine, prop, mount, carb ignition, etc. all the firewall fwd stuff.

I talk with no expertise, except for that of a consumer in the process of deciding which aircraft/engine to build. ÂÂ
The HogAir engine is ideal for a FWF package for 100hp around $10k.  It won't compete with a Corvair on cost but it will appeal to a builder that decides not to rebuild an engine due to time or capability.  A builder not only has to rebuild a Corvair, but they must fabricate some parts like an intake, exhaust and cowl. ÂÂ
Personally I think I'm going with the Corvair because of the satisfaction of knowing I built the engine.  But the Hog is a close second...
