I just purchased plans and hope to start building soon in League City. It would be nice to talk to some of the local people building to gets ideas and help each other. I am going to start looking for a source of materials in the Houston area while I start constructing my building table.

Hello all...
I have just started an Affordaplane in my basement for now. Will move it to the garage in the spring.
Here is a real kick in the pants, I mentioned this project to a co-worker and he said he is also interested...and his father may just have enough room on his farm to start an ultralight park.
Great to have such a forum to share ideas and to fix problems. I look forward to talking to all of you flyers. 8)

NORTH CAROLINA

Been on hold for a few years but have started back building. Working on aluminum ribs right now.
has anyone used them yet? Just wondering about covering and how to keep the end ribs from pulling in.
I am using a 503 with dual carbs and cdi and electric start.

:D Hello All, i bought a started frame from a man in tennessee, so its being built in Somerset, Ohio. Im going with the Kawasaki 440 engine, and the magnum re-drive i am contemplating building my wings out of wood. have you seen the cost for tubes lately.

so far i am replacing all of the gussets on this bird as the origingal owner went with .090 instead of .125 but his will give me the chance to inspect every inch of this plane. if all goes well i should be in the air by this fall.

Any one close to me flying theirs yet.

I just got my planes and am getting ready to start building in about two more weeks. I have one big question I need help with. What is the real weight of a Afford-A-Plane ready to go ? Has any one ever built an Afford-A-Plane at the legal weight of 254 lbs? Ok so after I got everthing to gether to start building I'm hearing that in the real world the weight of the aircraft is closer to 300 lbs. Has any of you who have built an Afford-A-Plane come under the 254 lbs limit?
Thank you
