(03) Buttercup "Print" samples

Post by planecrazzzy »

Some guys wanted to see some "samples" of the BC.....

I don't blame them , I wanted to see some to , but never got the chance....( Bought'em anyway )

Anywho, Here ya go....

The prints were taken to where I work , and blown up to 24 x 36....( from 11 x 17 )
The owner, where I work is also a pilot , so "FREEBIE"....No charge......cool

also in the prints , is the front leading edge "Slats" ....Gives you some idea of how they work....
AGAIN, something that I would have like to "peek" at before I bought the plans.....

I made extra copies of the "Rib" section ( full size )  That way I can glue it right to my Rib Jig....

Getting information about this stuff was like "pulling Teeth".....Not ANYMORE .....If "YOU" want to know something
Just ask....

Foot note :  I'm glad I have two sets of plans....The small set will be tucked away in a safe place , I'll use the big ones....
If anything happens to any print , I have my small prints to make another copy of it....

I was showing this to somebody....it points out the wood ( not supplied in the ACS , "Wing wood kit" )

it's the Pine that brings the Spar to the same level as the Ribs....

Questions For Mike

Post by Allen »

Mike,
I'm new to the BC.  My questions are what is the wing skinned with?  What is the fuse skinned with?  Is the fuse framing wood also?  I'm a little tenative when it comes to building a plane out of all wood.  I'd really like to know a little more about what the various parts are constructed of.
Give me Liberty, or give me death.

Hi Allen,
The Fuselage is Chromoly....and covered with Dacron  ( Stitts Process )
The wings are also covered with Dacron...

At the Buttercup site , look in the photo section ( construction photos )

If you look at the prints ( above ) you can see the materials...

Great pictures.  Can't wait to see mine when the drawings get here.  I guess you're not thinking about the "bulged" doors since Jazz will give you all the space you want in the cockpit, huh?

I didn't hear about the "Bulged" doors.... I'll be leaving mine stock.... In fact, I plan on leaving alot stock...

If I build another one... I'd know what I want different.... Right now , why fix something that might work fine...

"Jaz"  ( one "Z" )  doesn't need much room , and has "Little" weight penalty...

She LOVES to go flying.... She'll jump in the plane and wait for me...
