Virgin Teflon

Post by Zenvair601 »

Hi. I have a question that may be a little technical, but this seems to be the best area for the post.

I purchased a piece of virgin teflon on Ebay. I planned to use it as my upper bearing on the nose-wheel gear of my 601XL. Since I'm plans-building, I have to find the stuff to use. The plans call for "nylon." The only thing about this teflon is that is is kind of heavy. I assume it would make a good bearing since it should be slippery. Not sure about the strength.

Can anybody tell me if there are other uses for the virgin teflon that I'm not seeing?

Thanks,
Scott Laughlin
