Anyone not doing the rivets on the wings, flaps or ailerons?

Thanks,

Clark, I used Rivets on the flaps and ailerons, only because I had not heard that Oratex had approval to not use them in Europe. If you have any questions, Lars will fill you in. If anyone Has questions don't hesitate to call me. Remember, This is only for Highlanders with the 1 inch wood rib webs.

Cheers,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce, I had heard some were not using them. I don't know if I'm comfortable not using them, I probably will. One less thing to worry about. It would provide a cleaner look. I was just curious.

Thanks,
Clark

Pretty easy to add later

If I do it again I will rib stitch because it is easier to lay the tape over stitch than a rivet

I am not going to say that I didnt use rivets everywhere... but, I do have alot of rivets left over...

Word of caution tho, in the air is NOT where you want to find out your glue only attachment failed.

I have been thinking about how possible separation would occur and when considering the tensile strength of the oratex, or its resistance to stretching due to the woven component, it seems logical that not only does the glue on the ribs hold it down, but also the adhesion to leading and trailing edges. Further to this, considering those factors, were any separation to occur, its hard to see how it would be catastrophic, UNLESS the fabric were to tear.

My own 2c which after considering inflation, is worth -5c. So I owe you a nickel.
