Anyone NOT using the finger screens in the wing tanks? Just curious.
Thanks,

Re: Finger Screens
I'm curious about the same thing it seems...
I posted this in another thread, but no takers, so I'll try again...
Just as a matter of interest...
Has anyone with the new aluminum tanks noticed any galvanic corrosion between the tanks and the brass finger strainers?
The aluminum tank is relatively much more anodic than the brass, so it would normally experience more corrosion on the threads where the strainer threads in.
It is possible that because the aluminum tank is so much more massive than the brass fitting that it won't experience any concentrated corrosion but I'm interested in finding out if anyone has noticed any corrosion on the threads during their annual inspection when the strainers are removed, inspected and cleaned.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Finger Screens
Mine have not been in long enough to know yet...
But I think your idea about mass is correct.
In the oilfield if we put a steel fitting in a Stainless steel system, the steel fitting will corrode away completly. But if you put a stainless steel fitting in a steel system there are no problems.
