Can a SuperStol be put on Floats

Post by Kushtekaa »

In the back of my mind I always thought the Superstol was unable to be equipped with floats due to the long shocks on the front landing gear to the mid-lower portion of the fuselage. Floats on seaplanes need stiff bracing to the fuselage. But here on barnstormers is one that is equipped with floats: https://www.barnstormers.com/classified ... tolXL.html What gives? Is the a one-off? or are others doing this?

It appears that the shocks have been replaced with rigid struts. I don’t know why you couldn’t put one on floats as long as you aren’t stalling it on at 20 degrees nose up.

Yep, it can be on floats. I saw one at the factory several years ago.
