Slat alignment

Post by BDA »

So I have slats all rigged perfectly
They lay flat are nice and even on the bottom and spaced right off the wing on top...
But
When I put the rubber bumper in the end the outside one wont close anymore.
Bumper is just too thick.
Factory said the aluminum plug in the end is too far out - thats funny cause they put it in there.

Any way, anyone else have that problem? Fix?

Billy said grind plug down, so I bought a 1” spot face tool to take it down.

Any other ideas before I chew this thing up?

I could only use 1 rubber in between two slats, if I used 2 they wouldn’t close. I imagine you definitely have the Inboard slat Inboard and the outboard slat outboard?...I had mine mixed up.

Same here. Only 1 rubber. Don't close with 2.

Yes 1 rubber, No need for 2

As for inboard and outboard - they were marked from factory but i got them mixed up in paint, so the only way I could tell was the ends with the aluminum plugs go together for the rubber bumper.

The aluminum sheet metal covers go on fuselage and wing tip ends I assume??
The ends w no plugs.
