Superstol Wing Cables/Plastic Bushings/Cable Bushings

Post by CanadianSheepHunter »

Page 64, third paragraph in build manual says to use a 1/2” Plastic Bushing in the rear of Rib 4, I confirmed with factory it should be 3/4”

Rib #7 Left Wing with 1 1/16” Black Plastic Bushing toward leading edge, and one small black plastic Bushing toward trailing edge. My clear shrink tube is left loose for now, taped on cable and will get shrunk on the cable tail after pre cover inspection. Interceptors in this pic have been trimmed 1 1/4” off the top of them.

Rib #8 Left wing showing Aileron/Interceptor/Spoiler Bellcrank. Note I used Galvanized cable that’s why I used Copper Nico Press sleeves. In this pic the upper sleeve was done with a single press Swage-It hand tool. The lower sleeve was done with 3 presses with my long red handled press tool from Aircraft Spruce...not sure yet if I will do the rest with single presses which is what the chart says in the AC 43.13 or the 3 presses.

Rib #7 Left wing with cables held snug with Aileron Bellcrank Cable arms parallel to rib. This is essentially with Aileron neutral.
