Flap Building Pics on Superstol

Post by CanadianSheepHunter »

Thought I would try uploading my first pics. Far as I know I had the most recent CAD drawings and build manual(had them emailed to me a month ago. Anyhow there is mistakes in the CAD drawings I was going by for my Superstol flap build, the attached pics show the correct spacing of ribs, the correct direction of the flat surface of the nose and rear ribs. Apparently the reason for the flat surface of ribs is so that water don’t collect due to the dihedral of the wings, and apparently making a melted hole through fabric at rear of each rib(on uphill side) will help condensation/rain get out.

Right flap, getting smarter at getting square...cleco nose skin on, use aluminum angle temporarily on each end, get square then rivet first rivet on rear 1/2” tubing, then drill the 3 missing holes in triangle gusset...then rivet the part of the gusset that is not under the leading edge skin, and Cleco the gusset holes that are common with leading edge skin.
