... is anybody working on this?
How hard would that be if I was the first?

Probably wouldn’t be too difficult, especially if the mount and cowl are same.

If you gotta have a Rotax, and you want more horsepower, you might consider the Edge Performance packages. North American dealer is Jason Busat at http://badasspowersports.com/.

Yeah, will have to register this plane in Europe. Using non-aviation engines seems to be difficult here. Although I am not sure at what point an engine is considered "aviation" since many of the modern small designs started as conversion engines.
The edge performance EP912STi does look good. Power-to-weight ratio is great and seems to fit under the 914 cowls. I would want to see a bit more hours on in before I throw it in a plane that is mostly used in mountainous terrain with limited emergency landing spots. Would be happy to be convinced otherwise, though.
Does anybody know more about the Edge Performance EPeX. That sounds like a wild beast. Probably won't qualify as "aviation" in a European Experimental for a while

If you're on Facebook, search for to "EdgePerformance AS" and "Yamaha Aircraft Conversions".stefavon wrote:Does anybody know more about the Edge Performance EPeX.
On the Web, go to https://www.edgeperformance.no (they're in Norway).
