Baggage Doors

Post by kenryan »

It has been suggested that we need a thread for how we built our baggage doors, so here's a start. I just made a frame using the same technique as used for the doors, but instead of round tubing I used square tubing. Then I epoxied that frame in place using the same epoxy that came with the kit. (I got the idea from Keith Showalter.) Here are a few pics.

The baggage door is well worth the effort. While your at it, if your putting the battery in the back, add a Battery Maintainer plug In the aft bulkhead so it is easy to access and plug in the maintainer.

Well here are pics of my rear bagage door, but after seeing all of yours, mine looks like the ugly end of dirty ole goat!

I used a hidden hinge, .030 aluminum for door pannel, and tried to stay as light as possible.
