Escapade Flaps pop out of detent
I have an early Escapade and the flaps will only stay in detent in the first notch when in flight. Sometimes they will stay in detent in the 2nd. notch, but will sometimes pop out when on short final! Can't get them to even go into position in 3rd. or 4th. notch in flight. On the ground they will stay in any notch I put them in. Any body have experience and maybe a fix for this?

Hi Larry, I'm not sure if the early escapades had the same problem as early Highlanders, but below is a link that i think describes your issue:

I was having the same problem, inspected all of the parts, everything looked good except it was dry. I lubed it all up with oil and problem solved. hope it works for you. RLM

Thanks very much for the replies guys. BucF16 the link you gave me has lots of good info on this problem. I will try those fixes. Yes I believe the wings are similar on early escapades and highlanders, except the highlander's are longer.
