Aixro XP-40 Rotary engine

Post by nestofdragons »

For my latest project i will be ordering my Aixro XP-40 soon. This engine combined with our design will generate a 1000 km range, 175 km/h cruise, 200+ km/h top speed, 5 to 7 l/h at cruise, single seat airplane.

I will keep you informed about my findings with this engine. I choose it for being 4stroke, reliable, compact, good weight-HP ratio, good fuel consumption. The website about this engine gives really good info. This info was very helpful during our choice of engine and design of wing platform using this engine.

On the following website you can see a lot of info about the engine. Ok, it is a variant, but the difference is mainly different location of fixation points.

I hope to soon give more interesting news about my tests with this engine. Once the design of the airplane is totally finished, i order the engine.

Keep that brain spawning wings (sorry, my usual aviation endphrase),

Ok guys, for those of us in America I did a little researching. 26kw at 6500 rpm equates to 34.87 horsepower.
