I'm getting a few things done .

I had put a defuser on the exhaust ,
I didn't like where it was hitting the prop.
I thought I could mix it up a little .
Well I did , which put more oil and bugs on the prop...hmmm,

I bought a U-bend from JEGS.
Without getting closer to the prop, I tried to divert the stream towards open air and in the direction of the Hub.
I got a lot of curve from the ubend , and I cut the tail piece with a slight angle to help start the curve quickly .

I haven't tried it , but I've got a feeling it will do the job .

Oh , I took advantage of having the fuel tanks OUT of the airplane to grind/weld the ubend

In the picture you can see the lake and the runway I'm still working on ...
The runway is getting a lot of vegetation . otherwise it's kinda sandy .
The reason I haven't tested the exhaust tip is because I was running it a few days ago and noticed the sand was scuffing my prop.

With some full lotus floats /skis this area could be fun.
I'm working on doors for Winter flying too , good time to test the floats , using them as skis on snow

Right now , Taking off over water doesn't sound good with tires , yes hug the shore , and follow the clearing till alt is safe to
attempt flying over this wooded area

I have repaired chips in my IVO blades .

They say super glue and baking soda .

Since I am working on the problem with the exhaust .

I noticed a couple more big chips ...then I measured from the hub.

The big chips I have,are all in the same area , they lined up with the old exhaust pipe .

Each blade has them (3)

PC, I don't think there's much you can do about getting exhaust residue on the prop considering the location of the muffler outlet. I don't think there's any shape you can cut it to that will really deflect it anywhere near to being out of the prop arc. Depending on what kind of damage you're getting, it could be excessive EGT (kind of a pitting/cracking erosion) to rust and other debris (technical name: gunk) being fired out of the pipe or internals of the muffler.

I've been watching my prop pretty closely (same airplane, Warp Drive 2 blade prop) but haven't seen anything I'm in the least worried about. Just a bit of brown powder that wipes off easily. All that being said, I don't have a lot of flight time with mine... between plain bad luck and doctors just loving to cut me up, I've been grounded the last two flying seasons. Then our field was threatened with flooding last summer and I had to move the airplane to my garage and in the process, dinged up the LE fabric, which I'm just now getting fixed. A bit of heating and some paint and I'm heading back to 27LL and I'm going to get some hours this summer come... well, whatever!

The exhaust was leaving 2 cycle oil on the sweet spot of the blades.
I have the oil injector... So oil is at minimum.

When I defused it...the dirty area was bigger

I'm sending the flow towards the hub , in a stream of air that has little turbulence.
My EGT is normal..... 1,100...normal

If this route still gives bad results... I might re-route the exhaust down...past the boom tube , out of the Arc
Aluminum should work.
But I'm hoping the new experiment will do the job.
Cooler air and cleaner prop.
