Is it acceptable to have a new fin welded on?

Grind the ends smooth and leave it alone, you'll do more harm than good!
You gonna rebore the cylinders or hone out?
I got exchange cylinders from Clarke's, they are really nice!

Spoke to William Wynne today, on his advice I'm going to toss out the jug with the busted fin and swap'em all out for Clark's. It's nice living just up the road from the Corvair Guru.

I'd replace it (as well as all the others).
